Our Story

“Together, we co-create
great places to live, learn and be”

Includesign Directors Marco Cubillos Angelica Rojas

We are a co-creative design studio led by Angelica Rojas and Marco Cubillos. Our journey as an architectural team commenced in 2008, marked by a significant milestone - winning two architectural design competitions to develop public schools in Colombia. Through this experience, we gained first-hand insight into the transformative power of design in enhancing the lives of individuals and communities.

In 2010, a burning desire to delve deeper into ecological design led us to Australia. Over a decade, Angelica and Marco invested their time, talents and passion, gaining invaluable insights by working, studying, teaching and collaborating with renowned Australian firms and public institutions like SJB, Ethos Urban, Development Victoria and the University of Melbourne.

“This period was essential, providing us with an intimate understanding of the local context and the practical feasibility of design concepts, expanding our network and identifying opportunities to make meaningful contributions to the built environment industry”.

Our story embodies a deep well of experience enriched with diversity, inclusion, collaboration and continuous evolution. With a dedicated and growing team, we remain true to our commitment to enhance the places and communities where our projects come to life. Through skilful design and the art of co-creation, we continue to transform places and enrich lives.

Includesign emerged as a collaborative practice dedicated to providing design services to rebuild a school in Nepal through the Friends of Nepal Association. This volunteer endeavor resulted in a beautiful school that provides a safe haven for children and a gathering place for the community. In 2020, following the resounding success of the Future Homes competition, Includesign formally transitioned into an architectural and urban design firm.

Since our official inception, we’ve played a pivotal role in an array of projects, including Senior Living Housing, Medium Density Residential, Mixed-use Hotels and community-focused Precinct Plans in NSW and Victoria. Notably, in 2022, Includesign won the top prize in the Living Village design competition, focusing on social, affordable and market housing in South Australia.
